Spilled a drink on your keyboard? Here’s what to do.
Unplug it immediately.
Blot dry with paper towels or a cloth.
To speed drying, place it near a radiator or use a hair dryer on cool/warm air—no high heat.
If the liquid was sugary (e.g., cola) and some keys are sticky or unresponsive, apply a few drops of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the affected keys. Make sure the keyboard is unplugged first.
If that doesn’t help, as a last resort, rinse the keyboard with water, let it drain thoroughly, and wait until it’s completely dry before reconnecting. This unorthodox method revived an excellent Das Keyboard for me.
