Freelance Technical Translator

Since 1999 (full-time since June 2008)

Specialization: Mechanical, electrical, electronic, energy and environment, civil engineering, and telecommunications.

Since 1999, I have translated over 16 million words. Around half of my work involves technical manuals. I also work as a reviewer and have proofread millions of words.
Throughout my translation career, I have worked with 122 companies in 24 countries, including 78 translation agencies and 44 direct clients.

Electromechanical Engineer

Company: Red Eléctrica de España (one of Spain’s largest power companies)
Main responsibilities:
– Implementation of interconnection capacity auctions
– Supervision and management of international electricity exchanges
– Capacity studies of the 400/220 kV grid: voltage control and overload management

Volunteering
Since 1997 I have volunteered for several NGOs, including Translators Without Borders, Association Culturelle et Sportive de Maxstadt, Red Coopera, Energía sin Fronteras, and Edificando. My roles have included volunteer onboarding and IT system management.

Although most of my work is technical, I won 1st prize in a literary translation contest organized by ProZ.com:
