IT is essential in the daily work of a modern translator. Good programming knowledge and the right tools can save a lot of time and money.

Backups

• I keep two computers and two internet connections running at all times to be prepared for any IT failure.

• In addition, my IT system includes a real-time backup (synchronization) to avoid risks due to IT errors.

• Windows 11

• Office 365, including macro programming skills

• SDL Trados 2022. This computer-assisted translation application is my main working tool.

• ABBYY FineReader. For converting PDF and other non-editable formats.

Internet connection

• 1 Gb internet connection
